World's no. 2, Rafael Nadal aims to be back in the court as soon as he continues to recover from his recent wrist injury.

The 28-year-old was forced to withdraw from the U.S. Open 2014 to defend his title due to a wrist injury that he acquired one week before the Grand Slam tournament in New York, but the Spaniard is now back in training.

The 14-time major title champion took his Facebook page to update his fans that he is on the road to recovery and recuperating well.

The tennis superstar posted a practice picture with the caption:

"Thank you very much for all your messages of support, they help me to work every day to be back as soon as possible. I'm continuing with my recovery and I hope to be back competing soon. THANK YOU."

In his Facebook page, he also revealed the sleeveless top that he was planning to wear during the U.S. Open before his withdrawal

The King of the Clay is hopeful that he will recover in time for the ATP World Tour Finals in London in November as he stepped up his training. Nadal was training into the evening and he even posted photos of himself practicing as the sun set, with the caption, "Yesterday we practiced until it got dark again! Good training session!

Although Rafael Nadal is hopeful about his fast recovery, he revealed in a brief interview that his recovery is taking longer than expected. According to the world's no. 2, he is no longer wearing a splint during the interview, but the chance of him competing at his next tournament in Beijing on September 29 is quite slim.

Thus far, Nadal is just following the advice of his medical team and taking things slow.
