Islamic State militants released a pamphlet where it gave tips on how to rape women. The tips are among other guidelines to its followers who are also advised on how to capture and keep women as slaves.

Interestingly, the ISIS guidelines advise against the use of torture while raping women. The guidelines, released just before the CIA Torture Report, contradicted the CIA method where detainees reportedly received "brutal" methods of interrogation by the agency. The pamphlet is translated by Quilliam, the Washington, DC-based Middle East Media Research Institute. Here are the major points from the ISIS guidelines.

The guidelines say that a female prisoner of war is "permissible" to have sex with. It refers to the part of the Quran where Allah apparently advised the believers to guard their chastity "except from their wives or the captives and slaves." When it is asked if it is permissible to have sexual intercourse with a woman right after "taking possession of" her, the guidelines say that it is allowed only "if she is a virgin." In that case, the "master" of the woman is allowed to have intercourse with her immediately after holding her into captivity. However, the woman's "uterus must be purified" before having sex with her if the woman is not a virgin.

The ISIS "expert" is asked about having sex with a child who has not reached her puberty. The guidelines insist that it is permissible to have sex with a child who has not reached her puberty if she is a slave. However, it is advised to check if the child is "fit for intercourse." Otherwise, the guidelines say that it is enough to "enjoy" the child without having sexual intercourse with her. The guidelines also said that one can sell, buy or give female captives as gifts to other men as "they are merely property." However, if the woman becomes the mother of the owner's child, he can't sell her.

The ISIS guidelines allow masters to beat female slaves to discipline them, but men should stay away from "breaking" them or "torturing" them. Female slaves are not allowed to be hit in their face. If a female slave runs away from her master, the guidelines say that she is entitled to no punishment.

The Independent calls the ISIS way of guiding people on sexually abusing women as "sickening" and "abhorrent." Several other media outlets like CBS News and Russia Today call it "shocking" and "horrifying." According to RT, it is a "twisted, medieval interpretation of Islam" "All of their actions are against true teachings of Islam," One of the RT readers, Telmin Kerimli, said, "It is muslims themselves who suffer most from brutality of ISIS."
