The PS4 continues to amaze with the kinds of sales that it currently enjoys. Comparing it to previous iterations of Sony's PlayStation, its main rival in terms of where the PS4 is now with sales is the PS2, which is said to be the console that had been the most successful in the lifetime of PlayStation.

And it appears that Sony is looking at the PS4 as just that--as having a lifetime sales potential that can match up to the sales figure of the PS2. In a report from Gamepur, Sony boss Andrew House has been very positive about the PS4's first-year performance. But for him, this is just the beginning.

"We are very conscious of the fact that in contrast to say, the PlayStation 2, life cycle, consumers are now faced with a panoply of different choices and devices on which they can play games. The best guidance that I think I can offer based on the landscape that we see right now, is that we have high hopes that the PlayStation 4 will exceed the overall life cycle of the PlayStation 3," said House to Gamepur.

The PS4 is on the road to matching the PS3 especially with the expected games. It may be that Sony's next aim is to see this successful performance of the PS4 lasting well beyond its first and even second year.

And to do this for the holidays, the PlayStation Experience is the biggest place to make some noise before the year closes. One of the more promising tidbits is the appearance of a number of ne developers coming to take part. DualShockers reports that a couple of new names, including indie studios have already revealed their attendance. This includes Xibaiba Studio from Mexico, Neptune Interactive, Willy Chyr, and Candescent Games, all of which are independent developers that have a title for the PS4.

For fans of the much anticipated 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," news sources have started to report the rumours that there could be a playable build coming to the PlayStation Experience. GimmeGimmeGames reports that there has been another source in Germany that has hinted this possibility.

Considering that Sony and Naughty Dog has not yet made any announcements so far, it's best to be taken with a grain of salt. But there's also a big ray of hope since PlayStation Experience is scheduled this December, and the expected date for "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is 2015. Seeing it in game events like these leading towards the release date is relevant.

Apart from the mentioned games and the availability of their hands-on demos, Shoryuken also announced that the PlayStation Experience will see some of the fighter games including "Mortal Kombat X" and "Guilty Gear X3rd - SIGN." According to the source, there's a lot of gameplay and materials that fans can enjoy at the event. Best to stay tuned for more announcements on the PlayStation Experience.
