While taking a break from their royal duties, Prince William and Kate Middleton took some time off to enjoy a romantic countryside dinner without Prince George on Thursday, Aug. 28. The royal couple was caught in a rare public display of affection at The Royal Head Hotel in Great Bircham, as they "could not keep their hands off each other."

Currently enjoying their month-long vacation in their countryside home, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge held hands and look into each other's eyes as they enjoy their romantic dinner. The couple enjoyed a meal of grilled fillet of black bream with roasted Mediterranean vegetables, black spinach and marinated olives. They also ordered oven-dried tomatoes with arrabiata sauce and got two scoops of vanilla ice cream for desserts.

"William was extremely affectionate and considerate towards Kate throughout. She walked in with wet hair," an onlooker told Express in an exclusive interview. "She kept playing with it, twisting it around her fingers while talking to him. They were quite flirtatious and couldn't keep their hands off each other."

Blending in like the locals, William was wearing a blue shirt, denim jeans and paired his outfit with white trainers. While Catherine ditched her hats and designer dress as she wore a cropped jeans and a black jumper.

Always a gentleman, the Duke ushered her wife to the bar three miles away from Anmer Hall as he ordered lime and soda and Kate sipped on white wine spritzer while waiting for their meal. Since he is driving, William ordered non-alcoholic drinks while four bodyguards are sitting at the adjacent table.

"When they had finished their meal, a couple of locals came up to them and said hello. They smiled and were very chatty, very accommodating. My overwhelming feeling was how normal they were. They just seemed happy to mix with the locals," the source added.

After two hours, the love-struck pair left the hotel and head back to Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham estate where they are overseeing the final renovations. The gorgeous countryside manor is complete with swimming pool, tennis court, new kitchen, garden room and 10-bedrooms.

Based on reports, Anmer Hall will the new base for the Cambridges as William took a job as an helicopter pilot at the East Anglian Air Ambulance. The couple will still continue their royal duties even if they don't live in Kensington Palace, as Catherine is scheduled to fly to Malta for her first solo tour.
