BlackBerry Priv is slated for a November 6 release and BlackBerry, Ltd has just gone ahead and confirmed what the device's specs are.

The smartphone can now be preordered in the UK from Carphone Warehouse at $890 or AU$1,223. There’s no exact date as to when the device will be available in other countries, but it’s speculated the price will be much cheaper when it hits U.S. stores, according to Tech Times.

In the meantime, potential buyers from Canada and the U.S. can only preregister for the device. Those that go through the preregistration process will be notified once the device is finally available in their country.

BlackBerry Priv is BlackBerry’s very first device to run on Google's Android mobile OS. Plus, one of the smartphone's main features is its proprietary security app. Before Priv, BlackBerry units always used the company's very own mobile operating system.

Turning to Google for its new OS is expected to turn out to be a good decision considering BlackBerry’s original OS didn’t offer too many apps compared to Android and iOS, much to the dismay of BlackBerry users. With the Android OS, Blackberry Priv users can now easily take advantage of the thousands of apps available on Google Play Store.

What separates Priv from other smartphones is that it features a sliding keyboard. This keyboard gives users an actual, physical keyboard to type on. In addition to this physical keyboard, the device also has a touch keyboard on its 5.4-inch Quad HD screen.

Priv also has an 18 megapixel primary camera with dual flash capabilities, as well as a 2 megapixel selfie taker on its front. The device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor. It comes with a 3,410 mAh battery.
