Blackberry users who have always been in the loop with regards to the company's products are aware that Blackberry Venice has now been renamed as the Blackberry Priv. It was Evan Blass, a known tech tipster on social media, who revealed this news to the public.

Although many of the company's users were reportedly a bit dismayed with the name change, others think that "Priv" is better, considering that it's short and snappy. The name reportedly might appeal more to customers.

Blass, more popularly known as @evleaks, has posted a new render of the Blackberry Priv online. Sadly, the leaked render did not give away any significant details about the smartphone. It did confirm, however, that Priv will be running on stock Android and will feature a handful of Blackberry-exclusive specs.

With regards to what could separate the device from its rivals, design-wise, the recently leaked Priv render shows that the smartphone will have a physical sliding keyboard that will come out from under its huge touch screen. Of course, the brand's iconic logo will be plastered on the top portion of the display.

Potential Priv users who are interested in using a smartphone that features more colours could check the cluster of new renders from @Pootermobile. According to Tech Times, the new colours will include sky blue, silver, purple and red. It must be noted though that when Ron Louks, the President of Devices and Emerging Solutions of Blackberry, first talked about the device at this year's Mobile World Congress, he only unveiled black and white units.

As of writing, the specific release date of Blackberry Priv has not yet been announced.
