The SM-G900A is rumoured to be the AT&T variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5, and it has shown up on the Web site of Samsung recently.

One of the most anticipated handsets that is subject of much speculation in the tech industry is the upcoming flagship smartphone from Samsung, the Galaxy S5. Rumour has it that the upcoming Samsung flagship smartphone, presumably called the Galaxy S5, was being tested by AT&T and at that time, it was suggested that it will be launched at the CES 2014. But, CES has already passed and there is no Galaxy S5 announced at the event.

A new report from SamMobile claimed that the AT&T variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900A has shown up on the Web site of Samsung. The surprising thing about this is that the user agent profile (UAProf) for the smartphone mentions a 1080p display, whereas one of the confirmed specs of the Galaxy S5 is the QHD 2K display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution.

This report leads to three conclusions where either of which have the same chance of being true. First, the SM-G900A can be a plastic and cheaper version of the premium Galaxy S5 that is why there is no 2K display. Second, the smartphone that is being tested by AT&T at present is just a prototype and we might still see the promised 2K display on the public version of the Galaxy S5. Third, the model SM-G900A is not actually a variant of the Galaxy S5, rather it sis a medium-range smartphone that Samsung releases every now and then.

Either way, we must take these rumours with a grain of salt as there have been no official announcements from Samsung itself.

According to Got To Be Mobile, confirmation from a "senior Samsung official" was made saying that the Galaxy S5 will not be announced at the MWC next month and instead, we might see the device launched some time in March 2014 at London or New York or at both locations simultaneously.
