As 2015 ends and 2016 begins, Sony will be welcoming PlayStation Plus users to the New Year with some of the best games for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. The games coming to PlayStation Plus this January are mostly acclaimed titles and should be worthwhile to any PS Plus user, whether they own a PS4 or a PS3.

PS Plus users with a PS4 or PS Vita will get the critically acclaimed “Grim Fandango Remastered” from Tim Schaefer and Double Fine Studios. This re-release of the classic adventure game features the same brilliant story that introduced fans to Manny Calavera, mixed with remastered graphics and a brand new soundtrack.

For those curious about how the game used to look and sound, both the graphics and soundtrack can be switched to their older, less refined versions. There is also plenty of behind-the-scenes footage for older fans to dig through, including an interview with Tim Schaefer about the impact the game has made.

The PlayStation Blog has also confirmed that PS4 owners will be getting “Hardware: Rivals” for free on PS Plus. Vita owners are also in luck this month, as they will be able to play “Legends of War Patton” and “Nihilumbra.”

While most of the focus was put on the current-gen hardware, the PS3 continues to strive with two popular titles from EA Games: “Dragon Age: Origins” and “Medal of Honor: Warfighter.”

Fans of roleplaying games (RPG) have enjoyed “Dragon Age: Origins” since it was released. The game grew in popularity and later gained two sequels: “Dragon Age II” and “Dragon Age: Inquisition.”

“Medal of Honor: Warfighter” is the final game in the long-running series so far. While it did well in sales, it earned mixed reviews upon release. To this date, there haven’t been any announcements regarding a new “Medal of Honor” game for current-gen consoles.

Though January is close, fans can still get the December games available in PlayStation Plus, according to IGN. The December lineup is highlighted by the first episode of “King’s Quest,” PS Vita standout “Freedom Wars” and a remake of “Gauntlet.”
