Viewers are readying themselves for the end of popular CBS show "POI." Greg Plageman, executive producer, was at the ATX Television Festival. He introduced the penultimate episode called “.EXE”, which saw him debut as director. During his interview, he was joined by Jonathan Nolan, executive producer and creator of the series.

The two show runners teased fans about the finale. They made the crowd laugh when Plageman described that the final episode all falls down into the hands of a Fitbit. Nolan, on the other hand, supported Plageman by saying that there is indeed a Fitbit in the last episode.

Furthermore, the two EPs discussed the last episode’s theme. Nolan noted that the episode was a chance for the makers to revisit some relationships that were not given a chance to develop in the past episodes. He elaborated that the finale had a lot of compressed storylines on such relationships in them that makes it a very emotional ending. Nolan explained that he did not anticipate the ending to be like this, Deadline reports.

Despite the anticipation that it would be an emotionally charged episode, Nolan assured viewers that the body count of characters will be the same. This is insinuating that no character from what’s left of the team will die anymore, following Root’s (Amy Acker) death in the previous episode.

In terms of having a possible reboot, speculations have been running around that there may be a possibility for a reboot because of Root’s transformation as The Machine. However, Nolan said that they designed the 13 episodes with a goal to tie up loose ends for storylines. He said that they think that it is a good idea not to have a Season 6 anymore.

However, he also said that they did not want to give up on the franchise of the show, as well. They will be looking at the ratings as the week progresses, Entertainment Weekly says.

“Person of Interest” season 5 final episode, titled "return 0," will air on June 21, 2016 on CBS. It also airs on FX in Australia.
