Previously, Shahi promised at the New York Comic Con “Person of Interest” panel that her character will appear more in Season 5 in a dynamic way, writes IGN. It was also teased by the showrunners that although the series will end after the new season, the fifth will be the best yet.

Aside from all the thrill and action that Season 5 will bring, there will also be some romance among characters. One scene showed Shaw and Root (Amy Acker) in a love scene.

The extended trailer, which lasts almost two and a half minutes, featured Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) narrating that he knows that very bad things will happen. He continued that there are no heroes and villains in everyone’s story, just people trying to do the best they can.

Root was shown in a train trying to escape from Samaritan’s men. Finch and Fusco both had a bullet wound in their midsection. Someone pointed a gun behind John Reese’s (Jim Caviezel) head. Shaw was also shown waking up inside an operating room. It seemed like more surgery will be done on her. The following scenes presented a lot of gunfights and explosions. Finch said that he was certain that he will die, but is concerned whether his friends will, too.

“We’re extremely excited to be able share this final season with the fans. We’re eternally grateful to our amazing cast and crew, as well as our partners at the studio and network," said showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman.

TVSeriesFinale notes that the Season 5 Episode 1, titled “B.S.O.D.,” which means “Blue Screen of Death,” will feature Reese and Finch trying to rescue the source code of the Machine to hopefully revive it before it deteriorates to the point beyond redemption. Root will also attempt to get away from the attacks of Samaritan’s agents. Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman) will be asked difficult questions regarding the deaths of Elias and Dominic.

“Person of Interest” Season 5 will premiere on May 3, 2016 on CBS.
