1. Harold’s actual funeral. Reddit user DeenFishdip wrote that the finale would be perfect if Harold sacrifices himself in the last confrontation. The scene where Grace (Carrie Preston) attended Harold’s (Michael Emerson) funeral seemed to be incomplete. It was sad how she was alone with the priest and the end was abrupt.

The user pointed out that after everything, an actual funeral with his real name should be held. At first, only Grace and the group should be at the funeral, and then every person that Harold has helped should arrive over the course of the season. There can be time lapses featuring how Harold helped them, which would also show Grace that many people cared for him.

2. Even after Finch’s funeral, Root (Amy Acker), and probably Shaw (Sarah Shahi), are still busy working on the Machine. The two are expected to encounter a big challenge in their romantic relationship. Root will have to make a crucial decision between Shaw and the Machine. The actress noted how confident she is about the series having a happy ending.

3. Fusco (Kevin Chapman) will be appointed chief of the police department.

4. Amy Acker noted how confident she is about the series having a happy ending. Yahoo! TV cites the actress saying that she hopes that Root and Shaw will find their happily ever after and that they would live together with the Machine, the twins and Bear.

5. DeenFishdip added that Reese (Jim Caviezel) will be at the library again. He is still mourning the death of Harold and starts to pack his things.

“Welcome,” he will hear Harold’s voice tell him.

The Machine is doing its best to comfort him, and he will smile at the nearest camera. It would close the series in an emotional manner and also give hope that the Reese is still working with Harold, as the Machine continues to impersonate its creator.

For now, everything is up in the air with regard to the show's future. “Person of Interest” Season 5 is expected to launch sometime in 2016 on CBS.
