"Quantico" star Priyanka Chopra will be attending the People Choice Awards 2016 as a presenter on Tuesday, Jan. 12. She is nominated in the Favourite Actress in a New TV Series category. The Bollywood star is competing against Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Marcia Gay Harden and Lia Michele.

Chopra retweeted the post by the official page of her American TV series “Quantico” for which she is nominated, The Hindu reports.

The ABC drama also bagged the final nomination in the Favourite New TV Drama category in the People’s Choice Awards. “Quantico” is Chopra's first major debut in Hollywood.

In her major venture in the US, the actress tackles everything with a steely conviction. She graced the cover of GQ India and revealed that it took her days to learn how to say certain phrases in English, GQ reports.

The 33-year-old plays the protagonist Alex Parrish in “Quantico,” who is an Indian-American Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recruit. She is suspected of masterminding the biggest terrorist attack on New York since 9/11. Chopra said that she loves the fact that Alex has flaws, which makes her unique, MTV reports.

The “Mary Kom” actress became the first ever South Asian actress to bag a starring role in an American network. It is part of ABC’s continued drive to promote diversity onscreen through casting and outreach efforts, NYT reports. Chopra is now waiting for the release of her Bollywood flick “Jai Gangaajal,” which is slated for March 4.

Meanwhile, “Quantico” episode 12 premieres next year, March 6, on ABC.
