The boxing public is anticipating that the super fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will be announced any time soon after both fighters reportedly sat for a discussion following their first meeting at an NBA game recently. Furthermore, Pacquiao has given Mayweather a January deadline to say yes to the fight. As excitement continues to build up and surround the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, the Filipino’s Canadian adviser Michael Koncz keeps mum about the long-overdue fight.

“I don’t have any comments right now,” Koncz told The Star. “I think we’re talking to the media too much right now, it’s time to be quiet, no comments.”

According to Koncz, Pacquiao is enjoying quality time with his wife and playing some basketball. Koncz further attested that “everything is good.”

Mayweather, on the other hand, seems to be enjoying some quality time of his own as seen on the undefeated fighter’s latest Instagram posts. Mayweather, who is currently vacationing in Jamaica, even denied reports saying that the Pacquiao fight is already a done deal in an Instagram snap.

In a text message that Koncz sent to the Philippine media as reported by Manila Standard Today, he said that the people who are involved in the negotiations should refrain from revealing either factual or fictional information about the potential super fight. Instead, Koncz said that they should all work together to come up with an amenable solution about the underlying issues, which he refused to talk about, to make the fight come to fruition.

Koncz, who was there when Mayweather and Pacquiao met during the Miami Heat vs. Milwaukee Bucks game, has previously revealed in an interview with Ben Thompson of Fight Hype that both fighters had met after the basketball game. However, Koncz refused to elaborate about what transpired during Mayweather and Pacquiao’s private meeting.

Koncz formerly said that he didn’t want to make premature comments because they were trying to build a “trust relationship” with Mayweather. He felt that volubly stating matters about the potential fight might ruin their relationship with the American fighter. The Canadian adviser hopes that keeping mum will work to their advantage.
