Michael Owen has pulled up his previous club Manchester United especially the manager Louis van Gaal for the way he has been setting out his team. Owen believes that by being in the fourth position with a whole host of clubs breathing down their neck, United are in no way assured of a UEFA Champions League spot.

Owen, in a recent interview to The Telegraph, believed that the strikers are not being able to play to their potential. Partly as a result of not putting out everything that they have and partly as a result of not getting the service that they should. He was particularly not impressed with Robin van Persie and Juan Mata. For him Ashley Young has been the best attacking player for United this season, especially starting from the wing back position.

26 year old Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel has expressed his desire to play for Manchester United. Currently playing at Zenit Saint Petersburg, where he was sold to by Benfica in 2012. “I am still young, only 26. We’ll see in the future. I have always liked Manchester United from when I was young”, Witsel told Bleacher Report UK when asked about his desire to join the United team. Now it is for us to see if van Gaal reckons that Witsel is good enough to pull on a United shirt.

Cristiano Ronaldo has all but ended hopes of playing once again for the Red Devils when he spoke of playing in Brazil after his stint at Real Madrid. “Corinthians and Flamengo are two famous clubs, I would gladly dress in one of their shirts”, Ronaldo said. He went on to say that he has a lot of friends in Brazil and that his relationship with that country is very good. He also recalled his fellow Brazilian colleagues with whom he has played especially recalling his respect towards the Brazilian great Kaka.
