Shoe designer Kobi Levi takes the high heel to the next level with sculpture-like, kooky appeal.

If you just can't get enough of animals and innovative fashion at the same time, then Kobi Levi's shoe designs will be a feast for the eyes. Inspired by the trend of animal-inspired fashion, Levi brings it up a notch by incorporating lifelike silhouettes and colors of unusual animals that are usually not related to fashion. Ducks, pudgy dogs, kittens and even a playground are usual inspirations for the radical Israeli designer.

"The trigger to create a new piece comes when an idea, a concept and/or an image comes to mind. The piece is a wearable sculpture", says Kobi in an interview with MyModernMet. When asked if people actually wear his pieces, the designer confidently replied "of course!"Kobi Levi's designs might seem tacky, radical, and more conceptual rather than practical, but he has a reason why he chooses to use his skill in creating one-of-a-kind shoes.

"It is alive. Most of the inspirations are out of the 'shoe-world,' and give the footwear an extreme transformation. The result is usually humoristic with a unique point of view about footwear" says the designer in the same interview. Those who flock to his exhibits and showrooms for his works are more than amused, amazed and even excited to see such a playful take on lifelike forms. One of his most famous pieces is the Mallard duck high heel which can be mistaken for a pair of MiuMiu summer pumps from afar. Another striking work is the dog-inspired pump, with foam support for the wearer's comfort. Aside from animals, Levi also draws his inspiration from cartoon characters and childlike obsessions like Olive Oyl and a slingshot.

More of an artist rather than a designer, Kobi Levi has collaborated with many designers to showcase his truly unique shoes worldwide.
