Sam Heughan, a cast member of “Outlander,” spoke about how the next part of the first season will be “dark.” The actor also revealed how episode 9 will pick up after the events of the previous episode and how the episode will progress. [Spoiler alert]

The previous episode of “Outlander” ended with Jamie Fraser dropping in through a window to stop Jack Randall from raping Claire. Speaking to Linda Ge of TheWrap, Sam Heughan revealed that episode 9 will begin with the last scene from the previous episode, but will go into a flash back that shows how the character found out about Claire’s capture and how he got to the point of the rescue attempt.

A previous trailer of the episode showed that the next episode will be told from Jamie’s point of view. All the episodes of the TV series that have aired so far have been told from Claire’s point of view, where the viewers get to hear the thoughts of the character. Sam Heughan also promised a lot of “adventure” in the next part of the season.

The actor also revealed that there will be a “fall out” between Jamie and Claire in the next part of “Outlander.” The relationship between the two main characters will apparently get “tested” in the upcoming episodes. Sam Heughan also said that while their relationship develops through each episode, the two characters will go to a “strange place” in their relationship towards the end of the next part of the season.

The book readers may already know how the next part of the season will be “dark.” Sam Heughan revealed in the report that Jamie Fraser will have to go through a “gruesome” experience, when he gets captured by Jack Randall in one of the future episodes.

What Jack Randall does to Jamie is said to “test” the relationship between him and his wife Claire. Sam Heughan added that the two characters “come out” of the difficult place in their relationship, but towards the end of the first season the relationship will still be in a “grey area.”

“Outlander” Season 1 episode 9 is slated to be released on April 4. The show will be returning to the TV screens after a gap of over six months, the previous episode aired on Sept 27, 2014. The cast members of the show were calling the long gap as “droughtlander.”
