There’s no rest for the “Outlander” team, as they appear to be currently busy breaking down the story of Diana Gabaldon’s books for an adaptation for season 5. A new video that has been released online shows the office and the writer’s room, where the producers are hard at work to bring more Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) stories for the fans.

The new video [see below] has been released online on the official Twitter page of Sony. Executive Producers Toni Graphia and Matthew B. Roberts give the tour of the office in the video.

The video starts off with Graphia’s office. The producer/writer showed her most prized possession, which is something Roberts brought from the set. The main office room has a few photographs hanging on the wall that Roberts took, to get the writers in the “Scotland frame of mind.”

Roberts can be seen reading “Drums of Autumn,” part of which was adapted for the third season of the show. Roberts then takes the fans into the writer’s room.

The writer’s room has boards that keep a track of all the locations in the story, and they also have some notes about the story that are written on magnetic cards. Roberts showed how they can move around certain scenes, by moving the magnetic cards. This makes it easy for them to construct a proper episodic arc and at the same time tell all the major portion of the story in the adaptation.

Two scenes from 1770 that appear on the board are “Regulators” breaking court and destroying Edmund Fanning’s house; and “husband” falsely charged with libel and expelled from the legislature. These appear to be scenes from season 5.

Apart from breaking down the story and writing the script for the next season, the producers are also currently busy with the post production work of “Outlander” season 4.
