A new video has surfaced online that shows “Outlander” star Caitriona Balfe (Claire) speaking about what’s in store in season 4. The actress spoke about the show as a whole, and specifically teased how the show has entered the New World.

In a video posted on the YouTube channel of ET Canada, Balfe said that the upcoming season has a new feel to it. The show will not only take the main characters to the American colonies, but the difference is also due to the fact that this is the first time that Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire will get a chance to live like a couple, without the constant threats that can separate them.

“This relationship between Claire and Jamie is what’s really at the heart of this show,” Balfe said. The actress said that there are different aspects of the show, but what binds all these aspects together is the love story of Jamie and Claire.

“It’s beyond time. It’s beyond place. It’s metaphysical...and I think so much of it is...you know... this is the aspirational love story that we all want,” Balfe said. She explained that it doesn’t matter if Jamie and Claire are separated by 200 years, they will find each other.

Balfe teased that although she has been playing Claire for such a long time now, the character’s storyline continues to surprise her. The actress said that there are new things to see and explore on the set of the show, and this makes her work exciting.

The changes Balfe has encountered on the show, and continues to encounter, makes her job challenging. The actress said that she has thought a lot about how these different experiences changes a person over time, and she has brought that to life through her acting. It should be interesting to see what new evolution Balfe has brought to her character in “Outlander” season 4.
