There will be a reunion scene of Jamie and Claire in “Outlander” season 3. But, will the two characters get busy between the sheets, now that they are much older? Caitriona Balfe teased what sex will be like for her character at the 12th Annual Oscar Wilde.

The following article contains minor spoilers from the next season of the popular Starz TV series. Fans who do not wish to know anything about the main characters and their scenes should stop reading.

Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will be reunited after 20 years. The Sassenach has changed over the years, but the thought of meeting the love of her life once again, stoked the fire in her heart. But, will the characters have sex in their old age?

Answering this very question at the Oscar Wilde Awards, Balfe rhetorically asked if old people can’t have sex, Vulture reports. Talking specifically about the show, the actress said that the love of Jamie and Claire is “timeless,” and “who they are inside is timeless.”

What was interesting while filming “Outlander” season 3, Balfe said, was to show how a person changes in a span of twenty years. Playing an older person was an “interesting challenge” the actress said.

Despite their old age, Jamie and Claire are sure to have some steamy sex scenes. Balfe explained that age is “just a number,” and added that the passions of the two main characters on the show “will still run very, very hot.” In terms of sex, the actress pointed out that old people have good sex too.

Even though Claire and Jamie will be in their late 40s or early 50s, the fans can expect some passionate sex scenes. The Sassenach has been repressing her passions for a very long time, while living with Frank (Tobias Menzies). So, when the two characters reunite their passions may erupt like never before.

The fans will have to wait for a little while before they can see the reunion scene though. The next season will begin with the separate storylines, with Claire’s flashbacks in Boston and Jamie’s life after the Battle of Culloden.

Unlike the book “Voyager” by Diana Gabaldon, on which the plot is based this time around, “Outlander” season 3 will show the actual scenes of The Battle of Culloden. The fans will therefore get to see exactly how some of the characters die.
