Filming for “Outlander” Season 3 is yet to commence official, although previous reports have suggested that some of the scenes were filmed “secretly” at an abandoned hospital. Now, a new behind the scenes picture of the actor has surfaced online.

[Spoiler alert]

A new black and white picture of the actor has been posted on Sam Heughan Source. The picture shows the actor with dirt covering part of his face. Commenting on the picture, some of the fans wondered if this was from the Battle of Culloden. It is not clear when the picture was taken and if it is from the production set of “Outlander” Season 3.

As previously reported, some of the scenes for the next season were reportedly filmed in Glasgow. The scenes were filmed at the Victoria infirmary just before the building was sold. An insider remarked that it was “quite special” to have the scenes of the show filmed in the building in order to preserve its history.

Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser) is currently busy watching the Olympics, and so is Caitriona Balfe (Claire). The two cast members will have to travel to some exotic locations to film their scenes for “Outlander” Season 3.

The next season is based on Diana Gabaldon’s book “Voyager.” The plot this time takes the main characters on a journey with a lot of action taking place on ships. The characters will get to go to Jamaica and also encounter pirates.

Jamie will also get to meet William Grey (Oscar Kennedy) again. But, the character will now be a grown up, and will be known as Lord John Grey. The character is yet to be cast.

“Outlander” Season 3 is set to show the aftermath of the Battle of Culloden. The story will be told in different timelines, with an older Jamie being featured this time around. There is also the unfolding storyline of Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and Roger (Richard Rankin).
