On Reddit, OnePlus had organised an AMA (ask me anything session) on March 26. During the session, Carl Pie, the CEO of OnePlus revealed that OnePlus 2 flagship will come with impressive specs to pit against the leading flagships of 2015.

The conversation on Reddit reveals that the next OnePlus flagship will be called OnePlus 2. According to Carl Pie, it will be one of the most influential smarpthones of this year. It will be able to take on the Galaxy S6, the HTC One M9 and the unreleased iPhone 6S.

During the AMA session, the OnePlus 2 specifications were not revealed. However, according to the rumours, the OnePlus 2 flagship will house a huge 5.5-inch display screen with support for Quad HD resolution, states Giz China. The original OnePlus One flagship from 2014 featured a full HD display on a 5.5-inch screen.

The OnePlus 2 is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 810 chipset that features a 64-bit octa-core processor along with 4 GB of RAM. The device will sport a metal exterior and stunning design.

The device is expected to come preinstalled with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. As far as the OnePlus 2 release date is concerned, it will come out in the market by the third quarter of this year, reports Forbes.

Giz China further adds that it will be loaded with a 3,300 mAh battery and is expected to release with a price tag of RMB 2,699 yuan that equates to $435 (AU$ 528). Speculations are also indicating that the Chinese manufacturer is working on a smaller OnePlus device. However, there is no confirmation on this device from an official source.

In the previous year, the OnePlus One impressed the world and managed to record sales of one million units. Hence, the OnePlus 2 is one of the highly anticipated to smartphones of this year.

What do you think about the OnePlus 2? Will it be able to take on the flagships of this year? Do let us know your thoughts by adding comments.
