OnePlus One that arrived in June 2014 is expected to get replaced by a new successor model called the OnePlus Two. Even though the OnePlus One smartphone has not been that easy to acquire, it is one of the most popular handsets of 2014. Its successor model is rumoured to arrive with beefier specs.

In the recent past, Chinese based tech companies like Xiaomi and Meizu have announced their new smartphones and now OnePlus is speculated to announce its flagship device very soon, says Android Geeks. It adds that previous rumours suggested that the OnePlus Two would come out with a smaller display. According to GizChina, fresh rumours say that the OnePlus Two will feature a 5.5-inch display that will support Quad HD resolution. The original OnePlus One smartphone has a 5.5-inch full HD display.

The OnePlus Two is going to be powered with the latest Snapdragon 810 chipset that features a 64-bit processor. The new chipset is also available on the newly released Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. The original handset contains the older Snapdragon 801 chipset along with 3 GB of RAM. The OnePlus One successor is speculated to house 4 GB of RAM, and it will be shipped with the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Lastly, the handset will be powered with a larger battery of 3,300 mAh capacity. GSMArena claims that the handset will be priced around $435 (AU$ 528). It even goes on to say that OnePlus may be working another device with a smaller form factor.

As of now, OnePlus has not confirmed anything on the successor model's name and specifications. On Jan. 9, IBTimes had published that the CEO of OnePlus, Carl Pei stated the sequel smartphone for OnePlus One would surprise the audience. Moreover, he also revealed that the handset will arrive with an impressive design.

In 2014, OnePlus sold about one million handsets for their flagship device and the speculated features of OnePlus Two indicates that a killer flagship is waiting to get unleashed, states PhoneArena.
