Glee Season 5 will air a week later, from Sept 19 to 26, because of the death on July 13 of actor Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson in the hit Fox TV programme.

Fox and Glee producers said the tragic passing of Cory, who died of alcohol and heroin overdose in a Vancouver hotel room, would result to the delay in production until early August because the writers have to rewrite the scripts which originally included Finn's character.

While the producers did not indicate what the intend to do with Finn's character, who never got to marry Rachel Berry, played by Lea Michele, on the popular series, it hinted there might be another wedding in Glee - a same-sex marriage at that.

The season 4 finale had Blaine, played by Chris Darren, buying a ring for a planned wedding proposal to Kurt Hummel, portrayed by real-life gay actor Chris Colfer. The cliffhanger proposal was preceded by an elder lesbian couple who were having dinner with Blaine and Kurt, planning to get married in a state where same-sex unions are legal.

The romance of gay characters Blaine and Kurt has taken interesting twists and turns through the past four seasons, with Kurt initially moving to Blaine's school to escape bullying.

And then Blaine followed Kurt to McKinley High School.

and became officially a couple.

Kurt eventually finished high school and moved to New York with Rachel, got a job in a fashion magazine and had a falling out with Blaine.

But the season 4 finale indicated they could be bringing their relationship to another level when season 5 airs.
