Lana Parrilla talked about the upcoming storyline of her character Regina Mills/The Evil Queen in “Once Upon a Time” (“OUAT”) Season 5 during an interview at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). Parrilla teased that Regina will deal with a lot of things in the new season which involves her role as the new saviour in Storybrooke, her relationship with Robin Hood (Sean Maguire) and the Dark Swan. “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 premieres on Sunday night, Sept. 27, at 8/7c on ABC.

“OUAT” cast member Lana Parrilla shared with Buddy TV that she thinks Regina will be nervous in Season 5 because of her concern for Emma Swan. In the finale of “Once Upon a Time” Season 4, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) sacrificed herself to the Darkness so that the villain-turned-hero Regina will not return to the evil side again.

The finale’s situation suggested there will be a role reversal in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5. It will be Regina’s turn to bring Emma back to the good side.

“We don't know what's going to happen, and Regina is very experienced when it comes to sort of crossing over into the dark side and committing evil acts,” Parrilla told Buddy TV. Parrilla added that Regina will be worried what the dark side will do to Emma, thinking that the latter may not be able to come back from being the new Dark One to her true self.

Meanwhile, Parrilla shared in an interview with Popsugar that her character is more comfortable with the dark side because she has lived as the Evil Queen for several years. Parrilla explained that being a hero and also the new saviour is something different for Regina and she must learn how to embrace the new responsibility, which includes figuring out how to help the people in Storybrooke.

Furthermore, Parrilla teased that the Regina-Robin Hood relationship will be a complicated one in “Once Upon a Time” Season 5 as Robin Hood and Regina’s half-sister, Zelena (Rebecca Mader), are expecting a baby. Parrilla thinks her character is handling the situation in a very mature way.
