In “Once Upon a Time” season five, Captain Hook is helping the Charmings get Emma back from the darkness to the heroes’ team.

Captain Hook was once a villain, so OUAT fans are hoping that he would stay strong enough in the light to save Emma. O'Donoghue himself has spoken about the couple’s predicament. He hinted Hook is joining forces with Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas).

“Hook loves Emma and he, much like the Charmings, is going to do whatever it takes to try and bring the saviour Emma back because that's who he fell in love with,” O'Donoghue told ET Online. The actor added that the story of ‘Captain Swan’ in OUAT season five will be similar to ‘Rumbelle’ in the previous seasons.

Captain Swan and Rumbelle are fan monickers for two of the show’s couples: Captain Hook and Emma Swan, and Rumplestiltskin a.k.a. the former Dark One (Robert Carlye) and Belle (Emilie de Ravin). In connection to Rumple, O’Donoghue also looked back to the time when Hook wanted to kill the Dark One.

When OUAT returns, Rumplestiltskin is “in a coma,” Carlyle said at the show’s San Diego Comic Con panel in July. Without dishing specific spoilers, the actor hinted that his character will not be prominent in the premiere of OUAT season five.

In other OUAT 5 spoilers announced earlier, it seems the viewers will learn more about Rumple’s family tree. Viewers now know that his father is Peter Pan. In season 5, viewers get to meet Rumple’s mother Evanna.

In other OUAT 5 spoilers: fans will see Camelot, King Arthur and Merida. The new season also features Zelena, portrayed by Rebecca Mader, who has been promoted to series regular.
