Series creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz recently talked about the fate of characters Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) and Belle (Emilie de Ravin) in the upcoming second half of "Once Upon a Time" Season 4. The "Rumbelle" relationship is currently damaged because of the Dark One's plans but it looks like that the pair will still reunite in the ABC fairy tale drama series.

In a TV Line report, series creator Edward Kitsis explained that Rumplestiltskin showed the viewers in the pilot season that he is a difficult person to love because he chooses power over love. The Dark One tried to do the right thing for his son Baelfire/Neal (Michael Raymond-James) and the woman he loves but the character eventually got tired because his actions gave him nothing in return.

The series creator and executive producer shared that Rumplestiltskin started the latest season with honorable intentions where he was going to give Belle the real dagger. However, things have changed when the Dark One got hold of the Sorcerer's hat.

"When he saw the [Sorcerer's] hat, that made him realize, 'I did the noble thing and it ended up with my son dying and me being a slave. So if I can never have to wake up and worry about someone getting my dagger, why can't I have everything?' And as he learned, you can't," Kitsis shared. Co-creator Adam Horowitz added that the relationship between the two characters may be damaged at the moment but there will still be Rumplestiltskin-Belle stories to tell.

"Rumple and Belle have been through a lot together, and despite how it may have felt in the midseason finale, their story is not over," Horowitz teased. Filming for the second half episodes of the ABC series is currently underway but the OUAT fans must patiently wait for the return of "Once Upon a Time" Season 4 in March.

"Once Upon a Time" Season 4 is scheduled to return on Sunday, March 1, with episode 13 titled "Darkness on the Edge of Town" where the "Queens of Darkness" Maleficent (Kristin Bauer van Straten), Ursula (Merrin Dungey) and Cruella de Vil (Victoria Smurfit) team up with Rumplestiltskin/The Dark One/Mr. Gold in getting their "happy ending." The brand new episode will air at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
