“The OA” has green light for season 2 and the next instalment is expected to answer several questions. One of the sophomore season’s revelations may be who the gunman is.

“The OA” season 1 has ended with a controversial event, the shooting in which Prairie (Brit Marling) was struck by a bullet from a gunman. The gunman’s identity was not revealed and some viewers think that the gunman is Prairie’s father.

Eagle-eyed fans have noticed that the gunman’s hair is blonde, just like Prairie’s dad. This has led some viewers to believe that the controversial shooter is actually the lead character’s father.

The Reddit boards are alight as to who could be behind the school shooting. “It’s very quick frames, but we see the back of the head of the shooter. Blonde hair and we also see a one-frame shot of his eye before the bullet goes off that hits OA,” a Reddit user has shared.

The Reddit user has also noticed that the shooter’s eyes are green. This has led others to believe that the gunman may also be Homer (Emory Cohen).

Fans can recall that when Prairie opened her eyes and told others that she can see again, she stared at Homer. “Your eyes are the richest green,” Prairie, also known as the OA, said.

However, Homer’s hair is not blonde. “The OA” fans are now guessing whether the gunman is Prairie’s father or it is actually Homer.

Viewers have received “The OA” season 1 positively. Rotten Tomatoes has even given it a 72 percent critical approval rating.

The show is so well-received that co-creator and lead star Marling has felt it unleashes a little magic into people’s lives. “People approach me with a kind of urgency to talk about The OA,” Marling told NME.

Marling believes that the sentiment is both unusual and beautiful. People are sharing different reactions with “The OA” season 1. The show co-creator said some fans tell her that they were crying at the end of “The OA” season 1 while some said their minds were blown. “There is a lot of passion and emotion that I haven’t seen before,” Marling has added.

The show also stars Emory Cohen (Homer Roberts), Scott Wilson (Abel Johnson), Phyllis Smith (Elizabeth "Betty" Broderick-Allen), Alice Krige (Nancy Johnson) and Patrick Gibson (Steve Winchell) among others. “The OA” aired in Australia on Netflix. Air date for its second season is expected to be announced in the near future.
