Verizon Nokia Lumia 822 owners will immediately be prompted to download a small firmware update once the smart phone is turned on. It has not been confirmed what the recent update will fix on the Nokia Lumia smart phone but it is expected to provide significant bug repairs.

The only issue that Nokia Lumia 822 users complain about is the bug that stops them from sending out SMS messages after upgrading with the Windows Phone Portico update. The Portico update reportedly provided two SMS-messaging related features.

The first feature has the capability to draft the SMS messages and have the Nokia Lumia smart phone save them for the users to finish editing the message later on and send them out without the need to start again.

The second feature allows the Nokia Lumia 822 users respond to incoming phone calls through SMS messages if the user is not available to take a phone call. Users can ignore the phone call and then navigate to the messages option to send the person calling an explanation as to why the call was not answered.

Currently, Nokia Lumia 822 is the smart phone exclusively available on Verizon. However, Bloomberg reports that Nokia Lumia 928 will become another exclusive addition at the largest US mobile carrier.

Nokia Lumia 822 was included in Verizon's smart phone line up in October 2012. The Nokia Lumia smart phone officially became available for consumers a month later.

Nokia Lumia 822 features a 4.3-inch AMOLED screen display with 800x480p resolution. The smart phone runs on the Windows Phone 8 operating system powered with the Qualcomm MMS9860 Snapdragon chip.

Other features and specs include the dual-core 1.5GHz Krait processor, 1GB of RAM and the availability of the 16GB internal storage capacity that can be expanded with the microSD card slot. The 8MP camera is incorporated at the back panel with the 1.2MP camera is located at the front bezel.
