The Nobel Prize Banquet witnessed the princesses of Sweden in designer evening gowns and dazzling jewellery along with an indispensable accessory -- tiaras. Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Madeleine and their sister-in-law Princess Sofia attended the banquet along with their husbands and King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia at City Hall, Stockholm on Thursday, Dec. 10. The Swedish monarch presented the prizes during the prestigious ceremony.

Pregnant royals Victoria and Sofia turned heads at the event. The princesses are set to welcome their babies next year, Hello reports. Victoria highlighted her growing baby bump in a floor-length purple gown. She completed her look with pale pink lipstick, purple clutch and heels.

She also accessorised with a silver sash and the stunning Connaught Diamond tiara, diamond and amethyst necklace, matching earrings and brooch. The 38-year-old was pictured cradling her bump as she stood during the ceremony, attending with her husband Prince Daniel. Victoria is expecting her second child with her husband in March 2016.

Meanwhile, Sofia looked radiant in an embellished navy blue gown that covered her baby bump. The 30-year-old princess accessorised with the emerald and diamond-encrusted tiara that was designed especially for her wedding day in June. She paired it with matching earrings.

This is Sofia’s first state banquet, Irish Independent reports. She wore her brunette tresses in a low chignon, while her flawless make-up consisted of mascara and frosty pink lipstick. She completed her look with a midnight blue clutch and matching high heels. She is expecting her first child with her husband Prince Carl Philip in April 2016.

Madeleine, who now devotes her time between the family’s London home and Sweden, glowed in a glitzy pastel gown. She accessorised with the rarely seen Aquamarine Koloshnik tiara, diamond earrings, chunky ring and a glittering clutch. She had smoky eyes and a hint of lip gloss while her brunette tresses were styled into a chic up ‘do.’ The 33-year-old royal attended with her banker husband Chris O’Neill.

Finally, Queen Silvia wore an asymmetric red brocade gown and accessorised with the Nine Prong Tiara, diamond necklace and earrings and a ruby and diamond brooch, bracelet and rings. The tiara is believed to be one of her favourite, People reports.

For the white-tie event, the hall was decorated with 20,000 white, yellow and orange flowers which were donated by the Italian city of San Remo, while 1,600 invited guests attended. The Swedish royals attend the ceremony every year, which occurs on the same day as a similar ceremony in Norway.
