The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office has declined the sexual assault charges against CeeLo Green. “The Voice” judge has also pleaded not guilty over the felony drug charges hurled against him by the authorities following claims by a woman that he had slipped ecstacy in her drinks while having dinner in Los Angeles in 20212.

Moments before the arraignment, Green, 39 arrived with his lawyer, Blair Berk at the LA court. Green whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, entered the not-guilty plea through his legal counsel.

According to CBS News, a hearing was conducted hours after he was charged with one felony count of “furnishing a controlled substance.”

The charges came after his date a year ago accused him of slipping ecstacy to while having dinner.

Citing a statement from the prosecutor’s office, CNN reported that Green "allegedly slipped ecstasy to a 33-year-old female while the two were dining at a downtown Los Angeles restaurant sometime between July 13 and July 14, 2012."

The statement continued, “The two later went back to the woman's hotel."

If authorities find enough evidence with the drug charges, the “Voice” mentor may face up to four years behind the bars when convicted.

Meanwhile, the DA also finds insufficient evidence over the battery assault claims also made by the woman involved in the case. Berk said that CeeLo could not be happier that the DA’s office itself refused to slap him with rape charges. It is said that the evidence against the claims is seen weak as evidence posed no warrant to the allegations made by the woman, six years younger than the 39-year old singer.

"Mr. Green encouraged a full and complete investigation of those claims and he was confident once conducted he would be cleared of having any wrongful intent and it would be established that any relations were consensual," attorney Berk said, according to CNN.

"CeeLo had faith that if the true facts were known the district attorney would reject those charges," the counsel added, insisting that “that the evidence did not support the false and unfounded claims made over a year ago.

Bail has been posted at $30,000 and Ceelo is due to return to court on Nov. 20.

CeeLo Green rose to fame as a member of a hip-hop group, Goodie Mob. He has give Grammy awards in his sleeve and is also best known for his role as judge on NBC’s “The Voice.”
