The spiritual successor of the hit Wii roleplaying game, or RPG “Xenoblade,” “Xenoblade Chronicles X,” has been one of the top-selling Wii U games in Japan since its release in the country in April 2015. The game is critically acclaimed for its gameplay and vast open-world which can be explored in a variety of ways. Fans from other parts of the world though who are eager to play the game won’t have to wait long for its release, as Nintendo rewards fans with a special edition of the game.

According to a report by Polygon, Nintendo recently announced big news for the game at PAX Prime in Seattle last weekend. The company stated that there will be a special edition of the Wii U’s “Xenoblade Chronicles X,” which is set to include several collector’s items for the game.

The game will release on Dec. 4 this year and along with it is an $89.99(AU $125.60) special edition version. The package will include a physical copy of the game, an art book, a special art card and a “Xenoblade” themed USB drive.

The art book will have more than 100 pages of concept art that will showcase many of the game’s content, including characters, enemies and the robots within the game named “Skells.” The art card, on the other hand, will feature illustrations from artist Takashi Kojo. The art card itself will be durable and is made of matte.

Perhaps one of the best items included in the special edition version is the USB that is modelled after the game’s Lifehold Units, which are support pods scattered throughout the game’s world. The USB will ship with 10 songs from the game’s soundtrack. The storage capacity of the USB is not yet known.

Xenoblade Chronicles X” is not a direct sequel to “Xenoblade,” but it does take inspiration from the title including its battle system, seamless open-world and large humanoid robots. Unlike the previous iteration, “Xenoblade Chronicles X” will allow players to create online squads to battle tough World Bosses.
