Nintendo has been very secretive on details regarding its upcoming console, the Nintendo NX, which is expected to arrive next year. However, market analysts have been giving their predictions and suggestions on the upcoming console as it could make or break Nintendo especially after the low sales of the Wii U. The latest analysis notes that the Nintendo NX does not need to compete with current consoles to become a success.

EEDAR qualitative analysy Matt Diener believes that the Nintendo NX does not need to be in full competition with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Diener revealed in an interview with Examiner that he believes the Nintendo NX is capable of encouraging third-party publishers to create titles for the console.

Like the Wii, the Nintendo NX is yet another of Nintendo’s innovative hardware. Diener noted that it is such innovativeness that will result in the success of the NX. Rumours claiming that the NX will fuse both of Nintendo’s handheld and console experiences could also be a big factor in the success of the new console.

“Nintendo has a history of doing things its own way, and that’s partially what’s allowed it to deliver excellent, oddball experiences like Splatoon and Super Mario Maker completely out of left field. When this experimentation works, as it did so well for the Wii, DS, and 3DS, it has paid dividends for Nintendo – but, unfortunately, when you take big risks, you’re going to have a few missteps along the way,” said Diener.

Diener also stated that Nintendo needs to create yet another unique experience for the NX for it to succeed. If Nintendo does pull it off, third-party developers could be enticed with the console, unlike the Wii U which was abandoned by most.

The Nintendo NX is still yet to be announced, but many speculate that it will be revealed next year. However, Express UK reports that Nintendo will have a busy 2016, so there is a possibility that fans may have to wait longer for the NX.
