The Nintendo NX and its games are continuing full-speed with development, if a new report is to be believed. While Nintendo has been dropping hints of a more details unveiling of its plans for the Nintendo NX, new reports have appeared to hint at game development already in place for second- and third-party developers.

Express reported that unnamed sources closed to the project not only hinted at game development, but also in some timelines that point to a release date this year. Previously, there have rumours about how some known titles such as “Super Smash Bros” may come as launch titles to the Nintendo NX. However, since Nintendo has not yet released concrete details, these should still be taken with a grain of salt.

Even with plans for the Nintendo NX underway, the company is not putting to rest its existing consoles, especially not the Nintendo 3DS. According to Nintendo Everything, Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima has acknowledged the 20 million units in Japan and the 54 million units worldwide for the Nintendo 3DS.

Given the numbers, the Nintendo president affirmed that the system will still be a big part of the profit maker for the company. To ensure this, he also hinted that they will continue the development of software and games for the Nintendo 3DS. Apart from dropping the hint that these will include large-scale games, most of these will still be unannounced until the company is ready to divulge more details.

Even though the Wii U did not share the same growth of units sold, Nintendo is not turning its eyes away from the console either. If anything, there appears to be more plans to bring titles like “Splatoon” and “Super Mario Maker” to the Wii U, so that it can gain the same following as the 3DS.

Most of these are plans for the future of the two consoles. For this month, Nintendo ensured that its fans will not be left behind with Valentine’s celebrations. DualShockers has spotted the Nindies Love You Sale that’s currently ongoing for some indie titles for the Wii U.

A 50 percent discount for indie titles will be offered for two weeks starting on Feb. 11. For Australia, there are six titles offered, somewhere between the US$1.99 (approx. AU$2.83) and the US$9.99 (approx. AU$14.19) value point.

The discounted selections include “Chariot,” “Chasing Aurora,” “Tengami,” “Teslagrad,” “Turtle Tale” and “ZaciSa: Defense of the Crayon Dimension!” There are also a couple of titles offered for North America and Europe, some of which are discounted at low prices starting from US$1.49 (approx. AU$2.12).
