Actress Nina Dobrev woke up with a huge smile on her face because of the surprise gift she received: a lovely bunch of flowers. The "Vampire Diaries" star expressed happiness and gratitude on her Twitter account but did not mention who sent it, hence, speculations started to run wild that it could be from ex Ian Somerhalder.

"Waking up to an unexpected sweet surprise. Beautiful flowers for a beautiful day. #smiling," Nina wrote on her Twitter account @ninadobrev. A WhoSay image of the flowers was attached as well in Nina's Twitter post to her followers that shows a little card but the message can no longer be read.

From there, the mystery begins with the burning question of: "Who sent Nina the lovely surprise gift?" Heartthrob actor Ian Somerhalder appears to pop in mind first since TVD fans are still hoping that the ex-couple will patch things up and rekindle their romantic relationship soon.

However, there is a chance the flowers for Nina Dobrev came from a fan, a close friend or the team of Cosmopolitan magazine who featured the 24-year-old brunette beauty in their September 2013 issue cover. Fans of the actress will definitely be curious regarding the sweet gesture and the speculations won't stop until Nina reveals the mysterious admirer.

Ms Dobrev currently enjoys living the single life after revealing to Us magazine that she is in no hurry to have a new romantic relationship."I've been a relationship girl and I've been in long-term relationships my whole life until this point, so I think I'm looking forward to spending some time with myself and finding myself again. I'm just discovering different sides of me and growing and then I'll figure out what I like in a man when I see it," Nina revealed.

Nina may have ended her 3-year relationship with "Vampire Diaries" co-star Ian Somerhalder, 34, but she claims there were no hard feelings between them. "It's all about finding out what meshes and what doesn't, and what you like and what you don't. Life is about experiences, so I guess I'm just figuring that out," the actress explained.

During the interview for the Cosmopolitan magazine, Nina Dobrev revealed that relationships do not define who she is as a person. "The whole point is being true to yourself and not losing yourself in relationships, whether romances or friendships," Nina stated on the magazine's September issue.

Nina Dobrev is certainly taking things slowly these days but she has confessed about the type of guy she would look for when she is ready to date someone again. "A guy's mind and humor and talent. I need to get to know all those things before I fall for someone. I'm not a one-night-stand kind of girl," Nina declared.
