Fans are still waiting to officially hear from Ian Somerhalder or Nina Dobrev the real status of their relationship but Nina's friend Colton Haynes has already confirmed during an interview with EntertainmentWise that the "Vampire Diaries" stars have indeed split.

The 24-year-old "Arrow" actor was not expecting to be asked about the recent break-up between Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev. "Oh, they are, actually," Haynes answered in surprise.

Colton continued to assure that there is no ill feelings whatsoever between the ex-couple and their split will not yield an uncomfortable working atmosphere in the "Vampire Diaries" filming set for the upcoming fifth season. The former "Teen Wolf" star stated: "I'm sure they're really great friends. But I don't think it would be awkward for them. I think they are both well rounded people."

The young actor continued to weigh in on the Ian-Nina relationship during the interview. "Every time you're in a relationship and when you get out of one, I always think you still have a little bit of love left, so they'll be fine," Haynes shared.

However, Ian Somerhalder's camp declined to confirm or deny Colton's statement in the interview. "We don't comment on our client's personal lives," a representative of Ian said to EntertainmentWise.

Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev are spending lives far away from each other after sharing on Twitter about their travel plans. The 24-year-old actress revealed she is ready and excited to wander Asia while ex-boyfriend Ian shared to his followers about his vacation in Europe.

"Beautiful and warm morning on a bright blue European coastline. Calm.Healthy.Happy.Thoughtful," Ian posted on his Twitter account @iansomerhalder. The heartthrob actor has wrapped up filming in London for his latest film "The Anomaly."
