Nina Dobrev begged director for a more kickass role in 'xXx;' releases cryptic statement on 'The Vampire Diaries' return

The question of whether or not Nina Dobrev will be seen once again in “The Vampire Diaries” before the show ends for good remains unresolved. For the meantime, the 28-year-old actress wanted to make sure that she had something really good to deliver to her fans who missed her on “xXx: Return of Xander Cage.” Reports say that she did not want to appear as a wimp on screen and even wanted to shoot her own ass-kicking scenes.

Nina Dobrev reportedly tried to persuade director DJ Carusso to allow her to shoot some action scenes so that she could impress her friends. Dobrev will be seen on the movie as Agent Becky Clearidge, alongside Vin Diesel who will reprise his titular role.

Dobrev did not have stunts, gun fights or any action scenes in the original script so she mustered the courage to walk up to Carusso to give her a more kickass presence. The actress also reportedly told the director “Come on dude! I can’t film this movie and have it come out in a year and have my friends see it and make fun of me because it’s such a cool, big action movie and I’m in the corner cowering the whole time.” She also asked that he give her a gun and think of something for her character together. In her Twitter account, Dobrev proudly posted photos of her stunt injuries. The actress even posted a closer view of her wound via an Instagram post.

As to whether or not she would again be seen on “The Vampire Diaries,” the actress has no plans of telling her fans and places everyone on a wait-and-see mode, reports Huffington Post. During an interview, Dobrev said that she will not spill any secrets about the rumoured resurrection of her character, Elena Gilbert.

“I haven’t ever told secrets in the past and I’m definitely not going to start now,” says Dobrev. She also adds that she is not allowed to talk about such matter.

Dobrev left the series towards the end of the sixth season. However, her character Elena can still be brought back to life. Considering that the show will be ending for good, fans are wondering if Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) will get the chance to be reunited with his one true love.
