A new president has been elected in "Homeland" and this is causing quite a stir in the show. As for Carrie (Claire Danes), an American Muslim has been trending online for pointing out spots that have been targeted by terrorists. Whether this is actually free speech or an act of discrimination will be determined as the show moves on.

Spoiler alert! This article contains “Homeland” spoilers. Read on if you would like to know what happens next before the next episode airs.

Previously, viewers learned that Carrie is now working with an organisation that fights for the rights of American Muslims in the United States. The official synopsis reveals that one of Carrie’s cases will get complicated very soon, so viewers will not be surprised if, all of a sudden, she will find herself in a working relationship with Saul and the CIA. As for President Elizabeth Keane, viewers need to see more of her to get a better sense of which side she is really on.

In this season, Carrie is back in Brooklyn, New York where her time is devoted to either taking care of her daughter or working at a non-profit company, where she provides legal aid to oppressed American Muslims. In her work, she gets involved with Sekou (J. Mallory McCree), a black man who captures the attention of the government after posting videos of himself online as he speaks in front of several sites across town that have been targeted by terrorists.

In the trailer for this episode, Carrie is seen confronting Ray Conlin (Dominic Fumusa) regarding the latest development in the case against Sekou. Ray Conlin defends the government’s actions of taking Sekou into surveillance while Carrie insists that the videos posted online constituted free speech. Carrie says the kid was entrapped, while Ray insists that his videos were all over the Internet for everyone to see.

As for Dar Adal (F. Murray Abraham), he is starting to get very suspicious about the advisors of the President-Elect. When he gets asked to give her the benefit of the doubt, he responds that Presidents do not get chances, they get tested.

Season 6 Episode 2 of “Homeland” will air January 22, 2017 on Showtime. It will also air on Channel TEN on Australia.
