Nicole Kidman says she does not regret marrying actor Tom Cruise because she was quite young when she tied the knot with the famous actor.

Kidman, who has always remained tight-lipped about her marriage to ex-husband Cruise, talked about it briefly in her recent interview with the London Evening Standard, after winning the Natasha Richardson Award for best actress. The 48-year-old actress, who is now married to country singer Keith Urban, was also asked if she learned some lessons from her first marriage.

"Any time you have a chance at something again is good, but each combination of people is different,” said the actress. The Australian actress then talked about how she was very young when she married the “Mission Impossible” star at the age of 23.

"I was a baby when I married Tom, but I don't regret any of it. But out of respect for Keith I tend not to discuss any of that now," she added.

The couple adopted two children, Isabella, 22 and Connor, now 20, and later divorced in 2001. However, the actress does not have any bitterness in her heart for Cruise. “Be the best you can be, not the worst, and think of the children,” she said.

The Aussie beauty also talked about her plans to celebrate Christmas hanging out, eating and playing with her sister and her six children. She will also be joined by her mom for the Christmas. However, the actress misses her father who passed away last year.

"We have big family Christmases that are never the same because you don't have the patriarch of the family [her father] there any more. But it is what it is, isn't it? It takes on a whole different meaning."

"But having been in the theatre, doing six nights and eight shows a week, I think Christmas has been well earned," she added.
