The May 2013 Google I/O conference in San Francisco, California is fast approaching and the excitement is building up over the announcements to be made at the event. Reports are now claiming that the new Nexus 7 tablet will be unveiled together with the new Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and the Google Nexus 4 smart phone with 32GB storage capacity supporting 4G/LTE.

The annual developers conference has always been the traditional place where Google introduces their new devices. The Google I/O conference will be held from May 15 to May 17 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.

The second-generation Nexus 7 will reportedly be released on July 2013 with remarkable features and specifications. The tablet is predicted to have Full HD screen display on a lighter and thinner bezel design with Wi-Fi network and cellular capacity.

The Asus-manufactured tablet is expected to retain the current model price at $199. However, there is a possibility for the new Nexus 7 to be offered with a lower price to face the tough competition against the rival tablets.

Furthermore, the thin and light design of the Android OS Nexus 7 can give the device an additional edge in the tablet market against other rival tablet-producing companies like Samsung and Apple.

Other reports claim that Google will substitute the NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor in the Nexus 7 tablet with the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. High expectations are surrounding the new Nexus 7 tablet since its predecessor achieved success.

Google Nexus 7 sales reportedly did well due to the impressive tablet specifications, performance and low price. For the new Nexus 7 2013 version, the tablet is projected to surpass the Google Nexus 7 after its official launch at the Google I/O event with the achievement of an approximated 1 million sales in May.
