Academy Award-winning actress Reese Witherspoon released an apology statement with her shocking arrest last Friday night due to disorderly conduct. The 37-year-old Hollywood star admitted she is deeply embarrassed because the scary DUI arrest of her husband, Jim Toth, caused her to misbehave and disobey the police officer.

"Out of respect for the ongoing legal situation, I cannot comment on everything that is being reported right now. But I do want to say, I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said. I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse," Witherspoon stated.

Reese's 41-year-old husband, Jim Toth, reportedly blew a 0.139 on the Breathalyzer test which is above the legal limit of 0.08. The police officer had to arrest the "Legally Blonde" actress for disorderly conduct after repeatedly disobeying the instructions.

The actress continued to express her remorse: "I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behavior." The couple was booked at a police station nearby and eventually released at about 3:30 a.m. ET.

Amidst the scandal, Reese Witherspoon was able to attend the Sunday premiere of her latest film "Mud" with her head held high in New York City. The actress was wearing a short black dress with her brunette look as she tried her best to smile for photographers on the red carpet event at Manhattan's Museum of Modern Art.

A court hearing on the arrest was scheduled on Monday, April 22, at 8 a.m. in Atlanta Municipal Court. However, unnamed sources are claiming that the couple are requesting for the hearing date to be re-scheduled due to Reese Witherspoon's busy promoting schedule in New York City.
