It's official. Samsung's Galaxy S4 will be on store shelves by April 27, Saturday. The first country that would get the device which features a full high-definition Super AMOLED 5-inch screen and a higher screen pixel density than the iPhone 5 is New Zealand.

The reason why Kiwis would enjoy the privilege of owning first the latest gadget from the South Korean tech giant is because of its geographic location, being the first country to change time.

The device would be available in major NZ cities such as Auckland and Wellington by 10 a.m. of April 27 through selected retailers, including Vodafone, Telecon and 2degrees. Available are two colours - Black Mist and White Frost.

Jon Barrell, sales director of Samsung for New Zealand, said the tech giant expects S4 to be equally if not more popular than the S3.

"The Galaxy S4 takes the smartphone experience to the next level ... From the 13 megapixel camera to its unmatched processing power and brilliant screen quality - it's an impressive device and we're confident Kiwis are going to love it," he said.

The devices has 7 key features namely:

1. Group Play - Users can enjoy music, photos, documents and games with those around them without the need to have a Wi-Fi AP or cellular signal.

2. S Translator - Provides instant translation by using text or voice translation on applications. The services include email, text message and ChatON.
