The New York Jets might be interested to select Tom Savage of Pittsburgh after the team hosted him last week for a pre-draft visit, according to NFL Trade Rumors.com.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reported the Jets might pull off surprise pick in the second round of the draft by picking Savage, who is considered a raw talent with big upside.

"Savage is one of the faster-rising prospects in this draft. He has prototypical size, a very strong arm, and played in a pro-style offense. The major knock against Savage is that he often holds on to the ball longer then he should, and takes unnecessary sacks," NFL Rumors reported.

The Jets, who already signed Michael Vick to compete with Geno Smith for the starting quarterback role this offseason, have been raising eyebrows for reportedly inviting top quarterback prospects like Jimmy Garoppolo.

"The Jets have raised some eyebrows with reports of several top quarterback prospects visiting the team, including-most recently- Jimmy Garoppolo, Rich Cimini of ESPN reported."

Savage covered 2,958 yards, with 21 touchdowns and 9 interceptions last season at Pittsburgh.
