Kanye West is set to showcase his eponymous Yeezy X Adidas Originals Collection Season 2 at the New York Fashion Week, or NYFW, fall edition on Sept. 16. The surprise show will be held at Skylight Modern at 537 West 27th Street.

However, the showing of his new collection was not scheduled in the official NYFW calendar. The 38-year-old rapper, who is married to Kim Kardashian, announced a last-minute fashion show, clashing with designer Anne Bowen’s presentation. Indian-American designer Naeem Khan was also set to have his show during this time, Harpers Bazaar reported.

West will start his runway show with a performance once again by Vanessa Beecroft. He showcased Yeezy Season 1, a men’s and women’s show, during the fashion week in February. Sitting front row during his show were big stars like Beyoncé, Khloé Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, his wife Kim Kardashian, his baby North West and Sean “Diddy Combs.” Even Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour graced the show.

Meanwhile, Bowen is reportedly furious that fashion media will most likely ditch her show in favour of Kanye’s. She has lodged a complaint about the Council of Fashion Designers America, or CFDA, Fashion Calendar. She also has now moved her show date to Sept. 17 at 12.30 p.m, WWD reported.

Bowen said that they had been preparing for a year for her new streetwear collection with lots of financial and labour costs to the company. The designer added that Kanye knew he was a media sensation and it was not ethical on his part to schedule his show at the same time and same date.

“We’re scrambling like crazy and it’s costing us a lot of money. There are cancellation fees and they’re trying to secure the same models and photographers they originally booked,” said Bowen’s publicist. Also, the designer and her team will have to re-invite the press.

Steven Kolb, president of the CFDA, said that West had not listed his show on the official Fashion Calendar, news.com.au reported. He reportedly only came to know about the show when he read news about it in the New York Post.
