Samsung's Galaxy Alpha was released in August. Unlike other Samsung handsets, the Alpha comes with a metallic construction and thereby providing premium-look to the device. Meanwhile, Samsung is offering "limited-edition" variants of the Galaxy Alpha in four different forms.

The Apple iPhone 6 rival, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, comes with an incredibly thin form factor that is only 0.26-inch thick. Even though Samsung tried marketing the device very well, the Alpha did not attract much traction. But then Samsung is not the one to give up, so reportedly limited-editions of the handset with leather back, also referred as snakeskins, are being sold in France. Potential buyers who would like to purchase a device that stands out from the rest, can opt for this artsy leather panel design, says Phone Arena.

Going by the published images in Samsung's official website pertaining to France, all four versions of the snakeskin limited-edition, leather-back models look stunning. Apparently, Samsung is planning to make 100 units of each model, so there will only be a total of 400 units up for grabs. It is worth noting that these rear patterns were designed by Free Lance and Jean-Baptiste Rautureau and the design is reportedly meant for both the genders. Interestingly, the colours brown and dark gray are aimed at the men, while burgundy and teal hues are meant for women.

With respect to pricing details, the limited-edition snakeskin/leather clad Samsung Galaxy Alpha will set the buyers back by 649 euro that roughly translates to $791. Meanwhile, the standard edition of the Alpha is priced at 569 euro (i.e. $694) in France. Interested readers should head to Samsung's official French website to check out the images of the snakeskin clad Galaxy Alpha.

As far as the key specifications go, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display, bundled with a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, a pixel density of 312 ppi, octa-core (Samsung Exynos 5430) processor and 2 GB of RAM. Plus, there is a 12 MP rear-facing camera unit with 4K video recording feature. Furthermore, the Alpha houses a fingerprint scanner and a heart rate monitor. Lastly, the handset is powered by a modest 1,860 mAh battery unit.
