Jamie Dornan takes on a new role in time for the holidays -- the role of a father.

Two sources tell Us Magazine that the "Fifty Shades of Grey" star's wife Amelia Warner just gave birth to a baby boy. The baby's name and other details are not yet available, and the actor's rep has not commented on the news. However, the same sources also tell the magazine that Dornan is particularly 'thrilled' to become a dad.

This is the firstborn for the Irish-born actor and "The Echo" actress who were married since April of this year. The couple confirmed in June that they are expecting their first child.

The couple will be spending the holidays at a rented home 'complete with a Christmas tree' in Vancouver. The couple temporarily relocated to the Canadian city ever since the start of the filming of "Fifty Shades," which Dornan is currently working on.

The Daily Mail also reports that Warner was in good hands throughout her pregnancy; as Dornan's father Jim and stepmother Samina, who are both obstetricians and gynecologists in Northern Ireland, have been looking after the baby's well-being. Samina even gave Warner her first scan before confirming her pregnancy.

'Jim and I are delighted that our third grandchild is on the way,' said Samina in an interview with Sunday Life. 'The early wellbeing scanning was a beautiful and emotional experience for all present.'

Dornan landed the role of Christian Grey in the film adaptation of the E.L. James' erotic novel after Charlie Hunnam backed out of the project. He then joins Dakota Johnson who plays Anastasia Steele and a string of supporting cast members of the film which Sam Taylor-Wood will oversee as its director.

When asked about the expected graphic sex scenes in the film, Dornan tells Entertainment Weekly that he is ready for it.

'I'm a fairly worldly guy,' says the former Calvin Klein model. 'I grew up in a very liberal place. I'm not saying we had a playroom, but I'm not shocked [by the sex in the book]. It's essential to tell the story. I can't believe films that don't invoke the sexual side of it. So it works for me.'
