As Microsoft’s Windows 10 release date nears close, details pertaining to the latest OS builds are making rounds in the blogosphere. Apparently, the Windows 10 with build number 10056 has been leaked and it comes with cosmetic changes and a slew of improvements to the upcoming operating system. Here is a handpicked list of Windows 10 features and changes seen in the freshly leaked Windows 10 build 10056, collated by Windows Central.

Start Menu And Power Button Changes

With the new Windows 10 build, the start menu apparently showcases two columns of Live Tiles. To top it off, users will reportedly be able to resize the menu. Plus, renaming the groups feature has apparently been tweaked and therefore, it is now easier to create and rename.

Interestingly, the power button in the Start menu has reportedly been shifted to the bottom-left corner, right above the "All Apps" button. Upon clicking the All Apps button, users will still be able see the list of all apps installed in Windows 10, however, there’s apparently a new left arrow icon right next to the "Back" button, which can be used by users to return to the main menu easily.

Shazam-Like Cortana

The Windows 10 build 10056 apparently comes with new options namely “Find Song” and “Help.” Speaking of Find Song feature, users will be able to use Cortana similar to the widely-popular Shazam app. In case, users could not recollect the song name, upon clicking the menu button on Cortana, it will apparently listen to the song and identify the track. Moving on to the Help option, Cortana Help will apparently lists out commands needed to make calls, send text messages, add new appointments, set a reminder, play music and among others.

File Explorer And Recycle Bin Changes

The File Explorer in Windows 10 build 10056 reportedly comes with thicker lines on the navigation elements and also shows bolder fonts. And the Windows 10 tiles are not aligned towards the centre, instead, it’s apparently left-aligned. To top it off, the solid Recycle Bin has apparently been replaced by a transparent 3D icon.

Generic Apps

Unfortunately, the Windows 10 build 10056 does not bring in the latest Music, Video and touch-friendly version of Office Preview apps. However, this build apparently comes with the new Mail and Calendar apps, along with the Weather app.

Xbox App

Microsoft has reportedly increased the Xbox app version to 3.3.5006. And based on the change log information picked up by Windows Central, the Xbox app includes “Watch popular game clips, profile improvements, activity feed, better window sizing, connect to Xbox One, browse OneGuide, Xbox one remote control and Microsoft Solitaire Collection Preview. In addition, the Xbox app also includes Microsoft Family app with parental control and Windows Spotlight.

Settings App

With the new Windows 10 build 10056, Microsoft has reportedly changed the "Display settings,” in addition to changing the Personalization and apparently, four new sections have been added: firstly, Background setting will apparently be the location where users can set their desktop wallpaper by making use of options like picture, colour and slide show. Secondly, the Action Center has reportedly been changed, where slide-in pane also changes with the selection of the theme colour. Plus, the Lock screen and Themes can now be accessed from Personalization.

When it comes to Privacy, a "Radios" section has apparently been introduced that lets users to choose if apps can turn Wi-Fi or Bluetooth automatically on in order to send and receive data. Lastly, the “Account info" option allows users to choose if any app can access the user’s name, picture and other personal details, notes Windows Central.
