Ever since Disney purchased the licence for "Star Wars," "Star Wars" has continuously made the headlines. Whether it’s about the upcoming “Force Awakens” movie, the new Disney animated series “Star Wars Rebels” or the new comics from Marvel, it’s clear that everything “Star Wars” has proven to be buzz-worthy. Now Disney has released a free-to-play mobile title, “Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions,” which is based on the animated series.

The game is a side-scrolling adventure and will have 35 action-packed missions where players can use their Jedi and shooting skills. Touch Arcade notes that the game has two phases of gameplay: the aforementioned side-scrolling levels and the Haven, where users can customise their town and unlock a bevy of content.

While the game is free, it’s not completely free-to-play. The free content for the game includes four playable levels as Ezra Bridger, who battles the Empire and can ride an imperial AT-MP to destroy various opponents in the game.

Players who want more content can opt to buy 30 more levels, which will also present the players with more gameplay options such as the addition of two more characters from the “Star Wars Rebels” show like Jedi Kanan and Sabrine Wren, the explosive artist. The inn-app purchases also unlock boss fights for players who want a challenge, and they also offer more unlockables for players who wish to customise the game’s haven.

“Star Wars Rebels” seems to be a big piece in Disney’s new "Star Wars" plans. Kanan, a character in the show, has a new comic series that will debut next week, written by Greg Weisman of “Spectacular Spider-Man” and “Young Justice” fame, with art by Pepe Larraz, who has drawn a number of comics for Marvel like “Thor” and “Deadpool vs X-Force.” The Kanan comic can be previewed in Comic Book Resources.

Fans can purchase “Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions” for free now. The app can be purchased for both Apple and Android devices, so people can get the game through iTunes and Google Play.
