As it turns out, the camera-centric handsets are back to the fore and this time around, the front-facing camera is in focus. Also, the market for smartphones that can take killer “selfies” has reportedly grown by leaps and bounds. Therefore, here is a new device named “BLU Selfie smartphone” for selfie-enthusiasts. This handset packs a punch with impressive features at a nominal price range.

As the name implies, the BLU Selfie smartphone’s stand-out feature is the front-facing camera unit. And this handset sports a whopping 13 MP shooter mounted at the front, in addition to an LED flash for selfies. At the back of the device, there is reportedly another 13 MP sensor unit with LED flash. This means, irrespective of which camera is being utilised, the handset will churn out killer photos, notes Phone Arena.

Moving on to the key BLU Selfie smartphone specifications, the smartphone apparently features a pocket-friendly 4.7-inch display packed with 1,280 x 720 pixels screen resolution. This solid display is reportedly protected by a secured layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3, which guarantees protection against scratches and cracks. On the hardware end, the device is powered by an octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and backed by a good 2 GB of RAM configuration.

When it comes to memory specification, the BLU Selfie smartphone apparently comes equipped with 16 GB of built-in storage capacity and a microSD card slot for further expansion up to 64 GB. On the software end, the device reportedly runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS, straight out of the box. In any case, Phone Arena warns the potential buyers that, the possibility of the company updating the OS version to Lollipop is debatable.

Furthermore, the BLU Selfie smartphone reportedly houses a 2,300 mAh battery unit. Sadly, this selfie handset does not support LTE connectivity. However, the device can be used under the networks of AT&T, Cricket Wireless, T-Mobile and MetroPCS in the U.S. In any case, the handset will reportedly run without any trouble under AT&T and Cricket's HSPA+ networks. But then, T-Mobile and MetroPCS customers will only be able to utilise the HSPA+ connection when in cities where the 4G 1900 Mhz band is active. Interested readers can purchase this handset from a choice of three hues namely Black, Blue or White Gold. As far as the BLU Selfie smartphone price is concerned, the handset will reportedly set the buyers back by $249 in Amazon.
