Ramsay Street faces quite an emotional day on the upcoming episode of “Neighbours.” On Thursday, Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel) can’t wrap her head around the fact that Paige (Olympia Valance) is pregnant. Worse, when Paige refuses to name the father, Piper begins to fear that her sister is carrying Tyler Brennan’s (Travis Burns) child.

Viewers of the long-running soap would remember that Paige and Tyler had a brief fling before when she was feeling depressed about Jack Callahan (Andrew Morley). Meanwhile, Piper’s relationship with Tyler is still highly contested by her family. This latest development just may be the final blow that causes the couple’s breakup for good. Other “Neighbours” characters who will appear prominently on the Jan. 19 episode include Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond), Aaron Brennan (Matt Wilson), Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou), Gary Canning (Damien Richardson), Sheila Canning (Colette Mann), Brad Willis (Kip Gamblin), Lauren Turner (Kate Kendall) and Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano).

“Neighbours” also stars Sonya Rebecchi (Eve Morey), Jarrod “Toadie” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney), Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne), Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher), Stephanie Scully (Carla Bonner), Mark Brennan (Scott McGregor), Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), Ned (Ben Hall), Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta), Ben Ian Kirk (Felix Mallard), Xanthe Canning (Lilly Van Der Meer) and David Tanaka (Takaya Honda).

“Neighbours” posted a sneak peek of Thursday’s episode on its Facebook page. In the clip, Piper tearfully reveals to Tyler that Paige is pregnant. Tyler asks about the father, but Piper replies she doesn’t know. “She wouldn’t say,” Piper shares. “But she’s in her second trimester.” Piper also says that Paige didn’t want anyone outside the family to know. “But I had to tell you,” Paige cries. “I think that the baby could be yours.”

Digital Spy reports that Paige has dropped the baby bombshell to her family, but refused to name its father, leaving her loved ones reeling from shock. This leads Piper to suspect that Tyler and Paige’s hook-up before resulted to the pregnancy.

Also on Thursday, Gary may be going back to his old criminal habits in order to pay his neighbours the money that his ex-wife owed them. Meanwhile, Amy and Aaron’s friendship may be tested when he is offered some marketing job for the new Backpackers hostel.

“Neighbours” recap

On Wednesday, Piper’s family lambasted her for running away. An explosive argument ensued, with Piper refusing to back down. Brad then went to talk to Tyler. Piper’s dad first apologised to Tyler, but ordered him to back off from Piper. Later, Tyler dropped by Piper’s house and tried to say sorry about lying to her. Terese noticed that the pair was having a tense conversation.

The next day, Terese went to the Willis house and shared with Brad, Lauren and Ned what happened. Lauren suggested organising a lunch so everybody could voice out their opinions about the matter. Terese volunteered to hold it in her house and arrange it. Brad invited Paige so she could act as a bridge, hoping she’d convince her sister that pursuing a relationship is not good. However, Paige said she doesn’t share his opinion and that Tyler and Piper are in love. Brad’s fears for Piper, especially an unplanned pregnancy, hit a nerve on Paige and she lashed out at her dad. She ended up being uninvited to the lunch.

More drama followed regarding the Piper-Tyler issue: Tyler lost his job as a mechanic at the local garage; Lauren had a tense moment with Terese, who insisted that Brad’s new wife shouldn’t meddle into things involving Piper. Like Paige, Lauren also was uninvited to join the lunch. When Piper found out that it was only going to be Brad and Terese at the lunch, she became upset for not having any ally. Piper insisted that despite her fight with Tyler, they’re not breaking up.

Later, Paige and Lauren decided to crash into the Willis lunch meeting to support Piper. Piper got a call from Tyler, who told her about losing her job. When Piper shared it with her family, Brad and Terese used it to attack Tyler. Paige started to defend Piper, and in the process, she announced the big news: she’s pregnant.

Meanwhile, Ned went to Erinsborough High to do some odd jobs for his community service. He and Elly had an awkward moment, before she left him to do his work. Later, Elly walked in on a female student flirting with a topless Ned. Seeing him half-naked, Elly fumbled as she talked to him. She ordered him to put back on his shirt before he distracts someone else. After school, Elly checked in on Ned again and encouraged him to take off his shirt. Elly looked extremely uncomfortable, obviously still attracted to him. She walked away to cool off and unbuttoned her blouse. Ned went to her and the two had a flirty banter.
