TV Guide reports that on Tuesday’s episode, Dr Taft gets his share of NCIS action when he is assigned to a major case. As he carries out his surgical duty on Gibbs’ suspect, Dr Taft discovers important pieces of evidence. Elsewhere, DiNozzo reunites with his ex-girlfriend Jeanne Benoit, and lends a hand to her in a case involving doctors in Sudan.

“NCIS” also posted sneak peeks of its Feb. 23 episode on its YouTube page. On the first preview video, Gibbs does not seem to welcome Dr Taft’s presence on his turf. At one point, Dr Taft asks what their next move will be, and Gibbs retorts, “Our next move?” Meanwhile, old feelings come out when DiNozzo encounters Jeanne as they investigate a case. “If I had one wish,” DiNozzo says on one scene, “I would turn back the clock.”

Another trailer shows Gibbs and Dr Taft playing chess. Dr Taft opens up about his dad, revealing his experiences as a child. He tries to crack Gibbs’ hard shell, but he refuses to talk. Dr Taft prods him to see a therapist, considering the shock and trauma that Gibbs recently experienced, and it comes out that Dr Taft spends a significant time talking about Gibbs to his own therapist.

Gibbs’ case is focused in a teaser, involving a US Navy officer who has been gunned down. When he arrives at the crime scene, Bishop is already there, and she briefs him about what happened. She reports that between 15 to 20 crates, each containing a dozen M16 rifles, and loads of ammunition were taken away. Bishop also says that another officer and one shooter was rushed into the hospital. Gibbs immediately calls Dr Taft and orders him, “Keep him alive until I get there, doc.”

The last preview video shows DiNozzo’s awkward encounter with his ex-flame Jeanne. They meet again while DiNozzo and Dr Taft visit Jeanne’s husband, David Woods, to “tap his resources.”

The Feb. 23 episode of “NCIS” is directed by Alrick Riley, according to IMDb. Guest stars on “Loose Cannons” include Laura San Giacomo (Dr Grace Confalone), David Chisum (Dr David Woods), Michael Cram (ATF Special Agent Earl Kitt), Jodi Harris (Catherine Taft), Alice Hunter (Navy Petty Officer First Class Janet Shor), Walter Fauntleroy (Navy Petty Officer First Class Lamar Finn) and Max E. Williams (Louis Shekian).
